I have blogged about this a bit before, but one of the interesting things about parenting the trio is watching the impact their gender differences have on them. K is such an enigma. As funny as it sounds, after almost 2 1/2 years of parenting her, I still cannot quite get my arms around her little personality.
She is definitely not a shrinking violet! She is CLEARLY the most physical of our children. She is a fiercely independent climber, wrestler, and silly, wild Indian. She loves outdoor critters, digging in the dirt and roughhousing. She was even the least verbal until quite recently.
Yet, she loves dresses, bows and all things pink and is extremely "mother hen-ish" of the boys. (Remember the lion incident?) Unless, of course, she is the source of the danger they are in...then all bets are off.
She loves the boys and she ADORES her Daddy.
And while there is certainly a soft spot in her heart for baby dolls and stuffed animals, she is definitely not afraid to drop them on their heads if she sees a cool police car, train, snail or frog she'd rather play with!
I just cannot get enough of her! I am delighted to have a front row seat to watch how God develops this soft and strong, sweet and sassy, tender and tough little girl into a woman.
**I have great pictures to go with this post, but after fighting with blogger for an hour I am giving up for now...

I believe that she will be just like you. Remember the picture of you with dirt on your face, hair down your back, holding a shovel, in the vegetable garden, in a dress?
Mom
she is a well-rounded little girl!! i'm sure all the boys will like her when she gets older. having 2 brothers is only helping her in learning to enjoy the things boys do. but she also has 2 protective brothers who can chase away the bad guys!! :) she is such a cutie.
I love reading this. I love hearing about your depictions of each of your children. It is absolutely awesome to watch our children grow and wonder how God will develope them and there characters. Thankkyou for sharing your heart Jenmom, I love your blog so much.
One day when my daughter was about 6, she went from her softball uniform, complete with little cleats and cap, to her beautiful yellow ballet tutu complete with curls and a little makeup for her recital, all in 2 hours.
Your posts are a joy to read and bring back beautiful memories for me.
I know you've heard this before but try not to blink during this precious time.
If we have a girl, I pray she is just like Kate. A good mix! She fits in well with her brothers.
She definitely sounds well rounded! Which is a GOOD thing!
I like how you worded it "I am delighted to have a front row seat to watch how God develops this soft and strong, sweet and sassy, tender and tough little girl into a woman." That pretty much sums it up!
