Camp Do-Your-Own-Thing

This week has been extremely busy. I allowed each of the kiddos to choose a camp that they wanted to attend, so for the first time in 4 years I have all 3 of my little people in different places for 3 hours each day. It is a very interesting (and stressful) preview into what the next chapter of my life will be like. K chose dance. Best buds, M & S are in the class. She seems to be really enjoying herself. I think it is good for her to get to do something really girly without her brothers.

P chose tennis. I am so proud of him because he has never even picked up a racket before this week, yet he determined this was what he wanted to try. He does not have any buddies at the camp and is the youngest one there...yet he seems to be doing great socially.

I am not sure the same holds true for the tennis. I had to get him to show me his moves in the parking lot because each time I arrive to pick him up he is on the edge of the court hanging by the fence, talking to parents and watching all the others do their drills.

R, predictably, chose baseball. The first two were easy to set up, but the 3rd was complicated by the fact that there is not a single Summer baseball or teeball program for boys under 5 in my town. We have come up wth a work-around solution, in that, a high school baseball player is going to spend some time practicing with him Thursday and Friday morning. In the meantime, R has been in Mommy Taxi Camp with me as we drop P at 9, K at 9:30, exercise, run errands, shower, then pick K up at 11:30 and P up at 12.

Our other big news of the week was the hatching of 4 out of our 5 butterfly coccoons. This morning we let them go, but one was not quite ready to tell K goodbye. And as if there was not enough action around here, we experienced the loss of a HUGE limb in our front yard last night. It took out my gas lantern in front of the house which led to a midnight visit from the gas company to stop the leak. I am still awaiting the tree service...

Is it really only Tuesday?

That's wonderful that K is doing the dance thing, I love, love those 'pink' pictures! And I am impressed with your plan for "baseball camp", that is awesome that you are making it work so they all get to do their own thing. I think that is so important.

The camps sounds great. We opted out of camps this summer, but I'm wondering if mine will regret that decision (I know I'm not, so far).

My goodness, I'm glad that wasn't a tree on your house. It's sad to lose something like that - irreplaceable.

That picture of K with the butterfly should win a prize. What a precious expression!

Sorry about the branch and the gas lamp!

I remember fondly those busy days and I miss them. (But I'm not near as tired now!) Precious pics!

Love the picture of K in the window - you should blow that one up and frame it!!! Relish these days - it goes by so quickly!!!

wow love the pic of K in the window!

Major bummer on the no baseball, we are fortunate to have the Biddy Sports Programs at our local YMCA. It is specifically designed for ages 3-5...teeball, basketball, and soccer.

Wow! You have way too much on your plate. If this is your schedule at age 4, what in the world will it be as they get older, as you mentioned?
