Three Words

I am not sure what it says about me that I am using a children's book for my morning devotion, but it spoke to me and I want to pass it along. :)

Sally Lloyd-Jones, author of the incredible Jesus Storybook Bible, has a new book called Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing and I am loving it. This morning I read the first one to my people over breakfast and it turned into three...each one more beautiful, encouraging and poignant than the next.

What words does God want you to treasure in the deepest parts of you?
"Be good"? "Do it better"?"Try harder"?
Are those the words God wrote in the Bible for us, to rescue and free us?
No. These words only show us what we can't do.
The words God wants us to remember are just three small ones: "I love you!"
They are the words that stop the Terrible Lie that Satan whispered to Eve in the garden: "God doesn't love you!" They are the words that heal the poison in our hearts that stops us from trusting God.
They are the words that Jesus came to tell us with his whole life.
They are the words he died to prove.
What words will you treasure today?
-Sally Lloyd-Jones, Thoughts that Make Your Heart Sing

"(Treasure) these words of mine in your heart and in your soul." Deuteronomy 11:18 ESV

In a world that can be so noisy and full of messages competing for our attention, these three words change everything if we let them. I plan to treasure them today.

I am a huge fan of the Jesus Storybook Bible and I am eager to get this devotion. Did you find it in a store? I looked on Amazon and it isn't available until December.

I pre-ordered it from amazon a few weeks ago and it arrived this week. So weird that it is now showing December...I wanted to order more as gifts. Boo! Maybe they are backordered??
