I grew up with one sister. I was hardly 'prissy' as I loved to play barefoot outside, build hideouts in the woods and ride four-wheelers...and yet, even I get a chuckle at the wild antics of the little girl I am raising alongside two boys.
A few days ago at the pool she split from R & P to play with two little girls her age. I couldn't help but laugh when I looked over to see that each of the girls had baby dolls and K had a shark....that she was using to chase the babies around the pool while roaring.
Monday afternoon the were riding bikes in the driveway when I saw her run headfirst into a large azalea bush. I think I have watched too much Wipeout, as my first instinct was to stifle laughter. She looked up at me with that face that told me she was trying to decide whether to laugh or cry.
"Mommy, don't laugh. That hurt-ed a little."
"I am so sorry, sweetie. I know I shouldn't laugh...but I wish you could have seen it. It was a little bit funny."
The almost tears ceased immediately and she got a devious/proud twinkle in her eye.
"Want me to do it again? You could go get the video camera so I could see what it looked like!!!"
My husband and I refer to her as our wildcat. She has definitely earned her nickname.

I have a four year old the same way! she puts her twin brother to shame with her fearlessness! we joke all the time if she makes it to adulthood alive she will be an amazing adult! she is a fearless leader who speaks her mind and commands attention...she wants to be a doctor but i think maybe president!
So? Did you film her second run into the azalea bush? So glad she is holding her own and then some in her little tribe.
Aw, so sweet! I'm glad she was okay- but yep, Wipeout seems to do that to me, too!
Too cute!
There's a special place in heaven for spunky girls.
