A couple of nights ago our bedtime devotion was "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." K was particularly captivated by this Biblical promise.
I tried my best to explain that when we love God more than anything in the whole world, we will want what He wants. K walked away with a different understanding...
"So, I just keep lovin' God and then He will give me chocolate cake if I want it!"
I told her that was not exactly how it worked, but to avoid 'over-explaining' I let it go.
This morning I told the children that we would be traveling to Atlanta tonight for Daddy's reunion party--and that tomorrow we would be celebrating Granddaddy's birthday.
"See, Mama, " K exclaimed, "God is giving me chocolate cake!"

She makes a point. Don't you love it when God does those little sweet things?
Remnds me of when I was on a mission trip to Russian youth camps, the kids prayed for icecream for snack one day, which hardly ever happened, but of course it happened that day! They were quite impressed and even talked about it a year later. Sometimes we just never know.
LOL!!!!! I love it!
