My children are learning a lot at their new school. Their first few units have been about the solar system, continents and the ocean. Proving that a little bit of knowledge can be dangerous (or, in our case, entertaining) I offer the following conversations we have had in the last 24 hours.
Yesterday afternoon in the dressing room of TJMaxx, P was studying his nose intently in the mirror while I changed clothes. After a few seconds he announced "It is like an archipelago!"
"What did you say, P?"
"These holes in my nose are close together like an archipelago."
"What is an archipelago?"
"You know, Mommy, when islands are close together."
I did not know that. I had to spend several minutes on google to confirm he was right--and I didn't even know how to spell it. Time for Mommy to go back to school!
K was quite surprised when I explained to her today that all people, not just babies, had been born.
"EVERYbody was in a Mommy's tummy sometime?"
"Yes, darlin', everybody."
There were a couple of seconds of silence before she added, "Even in Mexico?"

Those "brilliant" comments from your little people are HILARIOUS! What little sponges preschoolers are, huh?
Wow! It's amazing how much a child absorbs! And what a huge word to be coming out of a 4 year old! :)
thanks for the smile, today! I needed it.
Even in Mexico! How funny! I stumbled across your blog today, and I am glad I did. Jennifer, your story is so heart-warming. I love how God orchestrated your love story and later brought these three sweet children into your lives (um..a little dramatically, I must say!). Nice to meet you!

I LOVE IT!!
As a retired primary school teacher I have heard so many funny little comments, misunderstandings.
One day our Weekly Reader featured a story about Korea. A little girl blurted out, "My grandmother lives in Korea!" I got all excited, imagining postcards, letters, souvenirs being exchanged between my class and Grandma in Korea.
I called the little girl's mother that afternoon to get more information...Grandma lives in CORNELIA (little town in N.G.)...
Please share more of your adorable quips and quotes...there will be many, I promise...
Always love your blog,
