Persistence

A defining trait of K's personality is her persistence. I am amazed at how long she will work at something without abandoning her goal. Like her mother, she seems most competitive with herself. Also like her mother, she refuses to ask for or accept help unless she absolutely needs it.

What a picture of my strong, independent three year old girl!

The boys, on the other hand, are quite happy to have Mommy dress them. The sooner they are dressed, the sooner they can morph into "race car drivers like Daddy."

That's right, Daddy spent last Sunday pretending to be a race car driver. He drove 20 laps at 180 mph at Talladega. He had an absolute blast. His face looks like a three year old at Christmas as recounts the experience. Although we are not NASCAR fans, apparently speed and adrenaline are always fun!
Speaking of excitement, my children have been awake since 5:30 (but confined to their beds). They are WIRED because we are going to see Santa today!

Love it! My boys are quite like K but will ask for help if they get too terribly frustrated. And I would have never imagined your husband enjoying driving a race car. Did y'all go watch?

Ooooh! I LOVE the photo montage of your daughter with the sunglasses. Good for you for thinking of the camera and good for her for letting you take so many pictures. My husband would be totally stoked to drive 180 MPH too! (And I might like to do it as well! Shhh!)

Your daughter is like so many of us....maybe its a girl thing....because my 3 boys would never stay that focused in order to get the job done! :)

And, NASCAR watch out! That's pretty cool.

Let us see pix of Santa with the kids. Hope noone cried.

My daughter was SO independednt too and constantly said "me DO it!!" By the time she was 4, I started saying, "Part of being big is knowing when to let someone help you," because she was so stubborn about doing everything alone.

Great pictures...again.
