A Small Town Parade

Reason 653 I love our small town: The Annual Christmas Parade. Thousands of people turn out...and half of them are in the parade. Everyone in town with a pick-up truck moves them downtown around lunchtime and leaves them parked. When night falls everyone returns and loads up in the back of the trucks. It is kind of a redneck version of box seats. (We had 17 people in the back of the truck we were in.)

There were Clydesdales, bands, clowns, beauty queens, firetrucks, motorcycles and LOTS of big rigs pulling hometown floats.

I spent more time watching my children's reactions than I did the parade itself.

I think they enjoyed themselves.

It is SO fun experiencing things through the eyes of my children. What joy! :-)

That made me miss my small town of 7,000 where I lived for quite a while before Atlanta. Nothing compares to that kind of life. :)
