Copeland

As I wrote yesterday about the pain in the world around us, the Farley family in Nashville was weighing on my heart. Over the last couple of days I have followed the story of the delivery of their little girl, Copeland. Copeland has a chromosomal defect that means her time on this Earth will be very short.

As I have read the postings of this incredible couple I have been touched by a picture of what REAL faith looks like as it endures the fiery trial of losing a child. You will not be depressed as you read their story. Instead you will find yourself challenged. Would I pass this test? Could I truly, wholeheartedly trust God when one of my most precious Earthly loves were going to be lost?

Join me in prayer for them as they live out an incredible testimony of courage and faith.
They get it, ya'll.

Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be.
Remind me that my days are numbered—how fleeting my life is.
You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand.
My entire lifetime is just a moment to you;
At best, each of us is but a breath.
Psalm 39:4-5 (New Living Translation)

I posted about baby Copeland also this morning. That family is a living testimony to us all. I'm like you - I don't know if I could handle this situation as well as they have. Blessings!

Totally off your topic - I've got a friend who knows/knew your husband - she was a nurse at Grady. Small world!

Thanks for sharing that.. we too had a friend who lost a baby due to a chromosomal defect. The father held their child after birth until it died and said he was ok with it because he knew she went from her earthly fathers arms straight to her heavenly Fathers arms. How beautiful?!

God bless,
Sallie

I've been checking in on that family, too. Aren't they amazing!? My husband and I agreed that we doubt we'd be as strong or faithful as they have been in the face of such circumstances. What an inspiration they are!

P.S. Your vacation pics are, as always, fantastic!
