His Girl

He's on trauma call which caused him to be 45 minutes late picking her up for the annual Daddy Daughter Dance.
She waited patiently and LIT UP like a Christmas tree when he walked in the back door. She twirled around and grinned ear to ear as she showed off her new dress. He will have to go back into work at 9pm when the party is over. But because it was important to her, he made it.
Someday her prince will come...
and he is going to have a very hard act to follow.

Tears come to my eyes... She is beautiful. And I see visions of our future with a daddy on trauma call. He knew it meant the world to her and he made it happen. Love.

Whoever captures her heart is going to have oh, so hard a time of coming up to what her Daddy has done and will do for her. She knows how special she is, and when she is older and understands him being at the hospital and how he took time away from his work, just for her....she will really know how special she is. You are so teaching your children the same thing about our heavenly Father. Blessings on your day to day happenings with your trio!

Makes me think of a line in an Andrew Lloyd Weber song in Aspects Of Love, a daddy singing while he dances with his daughter: Let me be the first man you remember and the last one you forget.
She will always remember how special her daddy is & how special she is to him!!

This brings tears to my eyes-how precious! Our daughter became engaged last night, and her fiancé is a lot like her dad. Big shoes to fill, indeed!

I just love this. We are expecting our first child, a little girl, and I cannot wait for moments like this between my hubby and our girl. I foresee lots of call trades and/or going back later to finish up work in our future, too. The life of a doc and his family! Thanks for sharing.
