Grace in Relationships

So, I gave in and joined Twitter a few weeks ago. I still don't really get it. (Totally confirming that I am old and un-hip) I am not any good at creating cute tweets, but I am thoroughly enjoying having a steady stream of wise, wise words coming in from writers and speakers I enjoy.

Today Desiring God.org tweeted a link to this post from Paul Tripp that was too good to not pass on. This quote will give you a taste...

The problem with this is that we are not just people in need of wisdom; we are also people in need of rescue—and the thing that we need to be rescued from is us. Our fundamental problem is not ignorance of what is right. Our problem is selfishness of heart that causes us to care more about what we want than about what we know is right.
-Paul Tripp

The whole post is a very worthwhile read--especially if you could use some godly infusion of grace into your relationships.

Whew! God is really in my dish these days...

So can you explain twitter to me? I don't have a fancy internet-capable phone so my internet time is spent in front of my PC. And I already spend way too much time there. I've tried to decide if I really need to add twitter to my life. I have email, a blog, facebook & a formspring page. Do I need twitter, too?

Liz- I certainly wouldn't say you need one...
Honestly, it is really just a nice diversion while waiting in carlines, waiting rooms and the like. I have a short attention span, so I like the short & quick nature of it. I am primarily enjying the quotes that get passed around.
But now you have me curious about formspring accounts....
Going to google that now.

Dear JMom,

On one of your posts, I saw a conversation where your women's group was thinking about using "Moments with the Savior" in its fall study, but there was a reservation because the book didn't have a study guide. I have long considered using the book for small groups and am in the process of putting together a study guide for it. Would your group be interested in being a Beta group to test it out? Thanks, Ken Gire. You can email me at kengire@gmail.com

If you ever "get" twitter, could you e-mail an explanation to me? I had to sign up to get baseball team updates for my son. After a few days I had several friends following and I was following several others. I DON'T GET IT!
