So, I gave in and joined Twitter a few weeks ago. I still don't really get it. (Totally confirming that I am old and un-hip) I am not any good at creating cute tweets, but I am thoroughly enjoying having a steady stream of wise, wise words coming in from writers and speakers I enjoy.
Today Desiring God.org tweeted a link to this post from Paul Tripp that was too good to not pass on. This quote will give you a taste...

So can you explain twitter to me? I don't have a fancy internet-capable phone so my internet time is spent in front of my PC. And I already spend way too much time there. I've tried to decide if I really need to add twitter to my life. I have email, a blog, facebook & a formspring page. Do I need twitter, too?
Liz- I certainly wouldn't say you need one...
Honestly, it is really just a nice diversion while waiting in carlines, waiting rooms and the like. I have a short attention span, so I like the short & quick nature of it. I am primarily enjying the quotes that get passed around.
But now you have me curious about formspring accounts....

If you ever "get" twitter, could you e-mail an explanation to me? I had to sign up to get baseball team updates for my son. After a few days I had several friends following and I was following several others. I DON'T GET IT!
