I am taking a break from the Dominican posts tonight because I don't want to forget a well placed word from a good friend today.
I was talking to Randi (my oldest close friend--we've shared 21 years of life together) this morning about an issue I wanted her to pray with/for me about. She has three small children and mine are home for their official Spring Break this week. Suffice it to say, our conversation was rushed. So, she got right to the point. "Jen, Lysa TerKeurst says we (Moms) have to have the courage to trust God to write our children's testimonies. You have to pray and trust."
Wow.
I googled that quote tonight and found this post.
That is a good word.
God, grant me courage to trust You to write my children's testimonies.
If this is as intimidating for you as it feels for me tonight, I offer a verse that brings me comfort.
"God is striding ahead of you. He's right there with you. He won't let you down; he won't leave you. Don't be intimidated. Don't worry."

A friend emailed me this post a while back. I love the things she prays over her children and have been praying them over my own. Thanks for the reminder to ask God for courage to allow Him to write their testimonies.
It's amazing that you're talking about this subject. I was praying earlier in the car about what to do regarding whether to go back to work or continue to stay home and how it will effect the family. They are 19,14, and 12. I have to trust Him writing the stories, not me.
