We were lacking the necessary 100watt bulb until late yesterday, so she has had to put off trying it out. This morning she was a little lady on a mission. "Mom, can we use my new oven to bake the cookies for Santa?"
She took her job very seriously. Of course, we couldn't stop there, so she went on to make a cake as well.
Her taste testers were delighted! Cookies and cake before 8:30am? It must be Christmas time!!

I especially like the photo in the middle. Of course, all of them are beautiful! :)
You are so right; it is a sweet milestone when a little girl gets her easy bake oven.
I remember when our daughter got hers and her big brother was right there encouraging her with all sorts of baking ideas.
My older sister had one when we were kids and we four kids would actually sneak crackers up to our bedrooms at night and bake crackers and butter while we were supposed to be sleeping - one of those things we told our mother after we all left home. Saltines and butter - heated by a light bulb....who knew they could be so tasty?
Ah Christmas!! Enjoy those little ones of yours. They are all so precious.
OK. I have to know --- it worked, right? Hubs didn't want us to get one for Allie because he was afraid she would be disappointed if it didn't work....
Thanks, Vanessa!
HW, I love the butter and crackers idea!!!
Mindy, it did work. It doesn't taste terrific, but the kids didn't mind. We are already out of the included mixes, and the refill cake mixes are expensive, so I am searching tonight for recipes we can make without having to buy the overpriced refills!
Every girl needs an Easy Bake Oven! My goodness, K looks so grown up in that first picture. What a fun thing. Now, I'm wishing my girls would have asked for one. Next year ...
K looks like she has grown up in the past 2 weeks!! She is absolutely stunning and I love the pictures! Happy baking, K!! Merry Christmas to all!

I wish you and your family a great Christmas peacefully reflecting on the kindness of God,Jesus, to save us .
Jmom, I don't mean this in a mean sort of way, so I hope you truly don't take it that way. (and if you do, I'd rather you don't post my comment.) I love the first picture of K~ she looks like such a little diva! :)
GE, I thought the SAME thing...Where did that come from?
