The most entertaining moment of the day was when R's teacher relayed a story to me of an occurrence yesterday on the playground. To fully appreciate the humor you have to understand a little about my R. He is intense, serious and in control--a little man in a 6 year old body. He has a very deep, raspy little voice, but still hasn't developed the ability to articulate his R sound. The combination of his serious presentation, deep bass sound and speech impediment make certain comments remarkably cute.
Back to the playground...
Apparently during a lively game of chase, his friend George fell behind a piece of playground equipment which obstructed the teachers' view. R ran breathlessly to his teacher.
"Miss-us C. Huw-wee! Come quick! Geo-wage is huwt weally bad!"
Mrs. C said that as she accompanied R to check on George (who was fine by the way, just milking it), R reassured her very seriously.
"I think he is huwt bad, but don't worry, I know he is not dead yet. He was still wigglin' a wittle bit."
I love that little man.

I really love reading the funny things kids say!! I laughed out loud over this one.
Isn't it sweet how he loves his brother?? And I had little boys too who had babytalk lisps...don't you just love it? Too cute and I hated to watch them grow out of it. So cute!!
I'm a long time lurker, but I love your blog, especially when your write about what your kids say. I think my favorite post was when one of the boys called Obama "O-vomit." It makes me laugh everytime I think about it.
I work at a children's home with foster care kids and I can so relate to what you wrote on your last post and the other posts that you've written about it. You just love them anyway, even when it doesn't make sense to the human mind.

Very funny! I almost spit my coffee on my computer screen. I love kids!
LOL! That sounds SO like something a kindergartener would say. So glad you love their teachers.
Your kids crack me UP! What a sweetheart to care about his mate.
Seems they have a really good teacher too!
