Worth It

I am exhausted.

We had a really terrific day. I will recap the parties (with pictures) tomorrow, but I have to write this down tonight.

As we were getting the children ready for bed tonight P (my least expressive child who seems to spend a great deal of time in his own little world) walked in the room where I was and asked if he and I could 'have a date tomorrow.' I asked him where he wanted to go and he replied that he didn't care. As he was walking out of the room he turned back and hugged me and announced, "You are a good Mom."

After all the hard work, that moment is what I will hold most dear of my childrens' 6th birthday parties.

That tiny stolen moment made it completely worth every bit of the work.

I think our kids do notice the time and love we put in...not that it has to be over the top. And sometimes...maybe they don't think about it...until we don't do it. His response melted my heart.

Your efforts were rewarded Mom.
So glad you shared!
