Disco Party

Who knew a costume party could be such a family affair? P & K were mesmerized by the wigs and had a lot of fun trying them on yesterday.
K was especially interesed in watching me get ready--the false eyelashes fascinated her. While I was getting ready she was giggling in the bathroom. I came out to find her dressed as a bit of a disco diva herself in a mixture of our costumes.

The other costumes were hysterical. Everyone had fun with the them and went all out in their selections. From sideburns to 'staches and lots of chest hair-- many of the men were unrecognizable. Feathered hair, glitter, wigs and platform shoes abounded among the ladies. The most talked about item was a pair of platform shoes that were clear with goldfish in them!
Seriously.

hi jmom! so this is totally unrelated to your fun disco party BUT i wanted to take a moment and share anyway. i remembered a comment that i made here waaay back when i first started reading blogs and my son was a little over a year old. i *thought* i knew everything about being a mom... but now, three years and another baby later... ummm, not so much :) once you think you've got things semi figured out, it all changes!

i did want to take a moment and tell you how much i've enjoyed reading and to send you some encouragement. your blog has really, truly helped me be a more intentional parent and has deepened my walk with Christ. i so appreciate how you share your faith a real way- you help me to remember that there's always grace! heaven knows this perfectionist needs it.

so even though i haven't commented in three years i want to say that i appreciate you and i love reading. and i feel like you're my friend in a one-sided, non-stalker kind of way. ha!
