I was planning a post about our dog, Haley's near miss yesterday. My husband inadvertently ran over her in the driveway. She was asleep behind his car and decided not to move when he cranked the engine. She went all the way under the car and came out the front. I looked out the window to see her struggling with a third of the length of the car to go. Thankfully, she was unharmed physically, as the wheels did not touch her...but it was a frightening experience and she is definitely spooked.
This morning my Mom sent me the following picture. This is my twelve year old nephew's bed. This happened a couple of nights ago during a windy storm. Thankfully, he was spending the night away and was not in his bed. He returned the next morning to find this scene.
Last week the cord of a space heater in our house caught on fire. My husband was standing one foot away from it at exactly the moment it happened and was able to extinugish it immediately.
This series of events has made me stop to think about all of the "near misses" in our life we don't even realize are happening. The prayers that are answered for our protection without our knowledge. Thank you, God, for being busy at work in ways we never even see.

Wow - close calls. The picture sends chills up and down my spine. Thank you, God.
What does it tell you about me, that I noticed all the Yankee paraphernalia before I even SAW the tree on his pillow?? Not that I'm trying to suggest your nephew become a Red Sox fan or anything...
Thank heavens everyone is OK. Including your dog - I'm sure that your husband was shaken, too.
Every time I get stuck in traffic behind a really slow car - I think of some old Amy Grant song - and thank God because I always think it might be his way of protecting me from a wreck if I was just going 20 MPH faster.
Oh! My! Goodness! Those angles are working overtime in your family's life. I'm so glad that everyone is okay, including the dog.
I love stories like this because it's a reminder that we are all in God's hands. "Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered" (Luke 12:7)
Your Guardian Angels have been busy.
Same thing happened to me when I was young. I was away from home at camp. We had one of those house with the single large room upstairs which was mine. There was a bad storm near my home. A tree fell and struck the hosue. Once it blew over, my mom went to investigate where exactly the tree hit the house and found a large branch was laying on my bed!
Praise God for His protection!
