As we were dividing up slices of Daddy's birthday cake there was a lot of whining going on between R & K.
"I wanted da blue fwosting."
"He got my piece!"
Suddenly, P looked up from his serving, frosting covering his fingers and said clearly, "You git what you git and your don't pitch a fit."
Then, he looked back down and continued eating.
I have never used that phrase, so through giggles I asked, "P, where did you hear that?"
"Ms. Jennifer says it at school."
Yet another reason I love Ms. Jennifer!

Caroline learned that at school too. It must be a sanity saver for preschool teachers!
Oh yes, this is a well used phrase among teachers and preschoolers throughout the city. I heard it when I taught, and never used it around my family. Then one day when S was in preschool, she came home and used it. I did LOL because it is so ironic to hear their little voices say it. They pitch fits DAILY!!!
I love it.
Too funny! I'll have to file that one away for future reference.
I love this because up here in New York we say, "You get what you get and you don't get upset." Tomorrow I'm going to say to my students, "You git what you git..." just to see how they respond! :-)
LOL! Did you laugh?
I definitely laughed, tee--and have chuckled several times since at the memory!
Samantha- I love that there is a different regional version based on accents!
How funny! Carver came home quoting that last week...
