I Love...

That my children refer to today as "valen-times" day

Having a husband whom I respect, love and trust completely

That today started with all 3 of the kiddos piling into my bed for morning snuggles, one on each side and one right on top of me. (What will I do when they get too big for that?)

That even though they pick on each other my children love one another

That yesterday when I lost it and yelled at my whiny children (then felt like a heel for letting my nerves get the best of me), the chief offender apologized without my asking him to

Hearing the giggles of sweet children as the soundtrack of my life (although I would love to skip through the whining that is also on my album)

That I can still pick them up and hug them close as they wrap their arms and legs around me like little spider monkeys

That I get asked random questions on an hourly basis like, "What makes kids go poop?" "When I get bigger can I live in this house and you go find another one?" or "Does Tyrone (from the Backyardigans) have the Internet?"

How my little guys look wearing boots.

The look of pride on K's face yesterday morning when she 'surprised' me by making her own bed.

The last couple of minutes of the day with each child as I get to pray with them one-on-one (thanking God for random things like swingsets Daddy built, loveys, and keyboards they can play with their feet)

The Saviour whose two greatest commandments involved love...and whose Sovereignty and Grace made this all possible. For Him to have simply died on the cross to save us would have been more than we deserve, but to heap blessing upon blessing upon us, to allow us to experience love and life and joy...it is beyond my comprehension.

"We love because He first loved us." I John 4:19

Such a sweet post! I could echo many of those, but my favorites were probably the way our little guys look in boots. It just does something to you, doesn't it? :) And their expressions when they learn to do things independently. How proud they are of their accomplishments.

What a touching post. May all three rise up to call you blessed. May they all remain your friends as they grow and mature and then go out on thier own. You are enjoying them and that is such a blessing.

So sweet.

Happy Valen-times day!

My 3 1/2 year old says it the same way, I almost hate to correct it!

My youngest was in third grade when Valentines Day was a spelling word. She threw a fit when the teacher marked her spelling of the word as incorrect. She was certain it was Valentimes--that was the way she had always pronounced it, and we found it way too sweet to correct!
