I think my blog should temporarily be retitled lots of snot. Thankfully, the fevers have subsided, the croup seems to have departed and coughs are becoming a little less intense. We are essentially just dealing with colds now. Hallelujah!
Storey came to babysit today while the children took long naps. I intended to nap as well, but once I flew the coop for a couple of necessary errands, the fresh air and freedom rejuvenated me. I stopped by the Christian bookstore to buy some cards and found a fun new DVD for the kids. After naps, I popped it in the DVD player, hoping to keep them entertained while I got dinner together. Instead we found ourselves giggling and dancing all over the place. I must say it was quite an improvement from the ringtones and exam room dance party yesterday!
I made a complete fool of myself dancing, twirling, high kicking and trying old cheerleading jumps (pitiful). Seriously, the old body just ain't what it used to be. Each time I tried another toe touch, I thought about how ridiculous I would feel explaining myself if/when I injured myself.
Thankfully, my children who will one day be MORTIFIED by their uncoordinated, has-been mother didn't seem to notice. As a matter of fact, after dinner, they wanted to do it again. Since I really dislike exercise, this is the closest to aerobics I have been in years. What fun we had!
After a long few days, it was so wonderful to laugh, dance, sing and enjoy each other! Now, I am off to bed. (Who wants to bet I am going to be sore tomorrow?)

I've spent the past week with only ONE sick and pitiful 3 year old, so I can't pretend to know what you've been dealing with! Croup is no fun at all. You have me ROFL with the "Lots of Snot" thing :-) Very cute...er - gross.
Anyway, glad it's looking up for you and your trio! I do so enjoy reading your blog, thanks so much for sharing your adventures!
The whole time I was reading I was thinking about how sore you're going to be tomorrow. Take some Advil before bed!
I too have "thought" of trying some of my old cheerleading and gymnastics moves and then decided against it after one cartwheel that left me as light headed as it comes and forward rolls that about killed my back! I couldn't imagine trying to explain my hurt condition to my doctor!
"lots of snot" ha! That's a good one.
Have another Advil with breakfast and prevent that pain from even starting.
That sounds so much fun. I loved and still enjoy the days of dancing around with my children. Though the body is failing, they keep my heart young.
Yep. You'll be sore. We just can't do it anymore. Its sad isn't it? Doesn't take much to get me sore. It was worth it though wasn't it?!
What a fun mom you are!!! Lots of snots - cracked me up! :-)
Sounds fun! The video looks good...I'll have to check that one out.
Seriously - "Lots of Snots"? I almost choked on my Starbuck's! You ARE such a fun mom. I never would have thought to dance to ringtones. =) I'll have to put that in my "bag of tricks" for the next time.
Bless your heart - I hope this weekend brings lots of rest and healing - you are a precious mommy! Sunshine
I LOVE the beautiful new pictures of the kids on the header, they have such a nostalgic feel to them. They all look so grown up.
I could use some advice on mothering a child with mild cp as far as what are some good activities/therapies that we should not overlook and just general advice from your experience. We haven't gotten the official dx since we don't see neuro again until April but from my phone conversation with him and our MRI it looks like that's where we'll be and I like to be proactive whenever possible. Sorry to ramble.
Thanks for always sharing your DVD finds with us. I think I'll try to get that for the little munchkins. We danced alot last night to LIVE AID on DVD. The kids got really wild to U2 and The Beach Boys.....although I am not sore (Iwasnt attempting toe touches) I am fatigued. lol
Have a great weekend all of you!
