1. I met with the movers yesterday. We are moving our furniture April 23rd. (Do you hear the Hallelujah chorus?) No, we have not sold the house yet...but Daddy & I have decided it is time for a sofa. By the time the move happens, it will have been 2 months of camping in this empty house. I know there are MUCH bigger issues in the world than my comfort. If I were a bigger person, I might be a martyr a little longer and hope God might teach me deep spiritual lessons about possessions and sacrifice, but this Mama Bird needs a nest! For better or worse, I have learned something about myself in this process. I really need order to stay psychologically healthy.
2. Speaking of the fleeting nature of possessions, we lost a HUGE tree yesterday. One of my favorite things about the new house are the trees. This is our driveway (from the house looking down.) If you have ever lived anywhere with old trees, you know that the flipside is that sometimes THIS happens. Fortunately, no one was hurt. We lost a wonderful old tree, but my sweet neighbors lost their detached garage and part of a brick fence.
3. If you haven't been over to check on Randi...Go read this! God is absolutely still in the business of miracles.
4. My Dad has had a moustache for his entire adult life. The other day, the kiddos were enjoying the first ice cream of Spring on the back steps when R announced, "Look at me. I am like Poppy!" Of course, the other two monkeys had to get in on the act.
5. A couple of weeks ago, K went to her first "dress up" party for a friend's 3rd birthday. One of the challenges of having 2 brothers and a tomboy mommy, is that K misses out on some of the girly-girly things. I take her out for one-on-one with Mommy (like I do for all 3), but am hesitant to go overboard with things "just for girls." She seemed to REALLY enjoy this time with other little girls. It was a reminder to me to work a little harder to incorporate more of the children's individual interests into our daily life and play.
6.The kiddos had their first Easter Egg Hunt of the season at Mothers Morning Out this week. The strategies for "hunting and gathering" were yet another opportunity for the individual personalities of my children to make themselves evident. R was first out of the gate, gathered a ton of eggs then moved on to the playground. K also gathered plenty of eggs, but kept them securely attached to her person (in the form of her basket around her neck even while she was swinging.) P found 2 eggs, then plopped down amidst all the chaos to study them intently. This picture makes me giggle. Happy Easter everybody!

Happy Easter! The picture of the three of them peeking out of those boxes is priceless.
I have no idea how I landed here but I'm so glad I did. Your kiddies are adorable and I'm enjoying reading through your posts.

Sweet, sweet pictures, Jen. I was thinking about you the other nite while I was glued to the weather as they were saying some of those storms were headed straight to our neighborhood; however, we only got drops of rain. It looked like you all were getting everything though. Sorry you lost a beautiful tree but glad everyone is ok.
this picture makes me giggle too - perfect display of easter. Loved them poking out of the moving boxes. I still have such fun memories of the 6 of us playing with the boxes when anything would be delivered to our house - hours of fun.
I love the pictures. The trees are beautiful.
All the pictures are great.
Remember God is a God of order and not chaos, so to have your house in order is a good thing.
Happy Easter.
So sorry about your tree. I get so uptight about my trees when a storm passes through! They are everywhere around our house and on our property! I would pray over each of them individually if I had the time! ;) "Lord, Save this tree from the storm!!" Your children are adorable, as usual!
Love the photos as always! I'm sorry you lost that great tree, but my word your driveway is GORGEOUS! And the kids? They are always CUTE!!
