I think my heart just melted

A few minutes ago, P started screaming my name. Since I tucked the children in over an hour ago, I decided to check on him and make sure he wasn't having a bad dream. When I entered his room, he let out a big sigh and quietly said, "Mommy."

I crawled into his bed and laid down facing him. I closed my eyes, hoping to model "sleep" for him. Suddenly, I felt something gently touch my face. I opened my eyes to see him staring at me, smiling, with his hand softly on my cheek. The look on his face was pure love.

I didn't want the moment to ever end.

I know there will come a day when he realizes just how fallible, imperfect and annoying I am...but tonight, my heart is drinking it in and storing that moment somewhere deep in my heart.

Precious! My son will soon be 11 and he is still madly in love with me. I wish it would last forever. I know some beautiful young girl is going to steal his heart someday.

My oldest will come and rub my back, but Sam when he climbs up next to me, or beside me in bed will rub ,my cheek ever so gently. Sometimes he even does it to wake me up. I hope it doesn't ever end for either of us! I also hope he is as gentle and loving with his wife someday...

And then maybe not....(end--that is)

My daughter is 19 and still loves to crawl in my lap when she is home from college..

Last night during the storm my 11 year could not crawl close enough to me in the bed....but then neither could the dog.. smile..

Your babies will cherish their mommy... you will always have a bond with them.. because you are building such a memory and living in it....

Blessings Jen.....

Enjoy these sweet days...cuddling and talking with Carver at the end of the day is some of my most precious time. I am hopeful that at least the bedtime talking part will continue for a long, long time.

Oh, this made me teary! I LOVE little boys; they love their mamas so well! It's a sad, sad day when they realize we have morning breath and can't sing. But thankfully, it takes a good five years for that to happen.

Soak up those moments!
