Now, here is the reality:Those are curtains, still on their rod, between K & P...and wardrobe boxes they are holding over their heads (EMPTY, of course.)This is, literally, the view out of my passenger window as Daddy went back into the house for one more load of things he needed Saturday night. (All of that mess in the foreground was in my passenger seat.) These pictures were taken on 2 different days...and my car has looked like that at least 5 other times. Today I went to buy dog food & there was literally nowhere to put it except for a car seat...Thankfully, the children were not with me so I could put it there.
My new motto appears to be: Who needs boxes when you have a Yukon?
At least I started with a plan...it has provided me with a lot of amusement as I compare it to our current reality.
Have I mentioned that we have eaten out EVERY MEAL BUT TWO since Thursday? Ridiculous, but true. My appliances are being installed in the new house tomorrow...so I will be serving up some fabulous (ha ha if you know me in real life) home cooking tomorrow! Yes, it will be on our card table, but the kiddos are enjoying the adventure--and their Daddy & I are laughing a lot.

Just look at the bright side.... one less box you have to unpack...
we did the same thing when we moved...and it went right into a drawer or closet....
Good luck on the move...
Praying it goes well...

Laughing.....hard!!! You are SO funny. This is hilarious. I love how you described the spreadsheets in detail (I wish things could always be that smooth, don't you?!) and then showed the photos of THE TRUTH! The picture of your husband carrying his "stuff" to the car cracked me up!!
You will be so glad you have recorded details like this years from now! Thanks for the laugh!
WOW! It sounds like you guys are doing great! I am so glad that you are keeping your humor through all of this. I can't wait to hear about how the kids do in their new beds!

Oh P.S. Is that a LAMP just sittin' out there in the second picture???!!!
(I'm NOT laughing.....no really.)
We have a lot in common this week. We just moved too and it has been terribly unorganized, but still okay. I am almost 8 months pregnant, so I'm not very motivated. I'm just glad it's getting done one van load at a time! :) Hope you get settled quickly and have evenings where you can just sit and relax and enjoy your new home and your sweet family!!
I love your attitude about the whole thing!!! I can't wait to see the pics of the new place, settled or otherwise!
As a military spouse, I move at least every 3 years and even though someone comes and packs every box for me, it is still an unorganized mess. We keep trying though, and maybe by the time we retire we'll have it down! Happy unpacking!
Oh, this made me SMILE! I always have great intentions...and I start off organized, but it all falls apart so quickly! The picture of Ryland holding the loose clothes is so familiar!! You're making memories!
:)
I'm amazed you even had time to make a plan. Current reality will get the job done - maybe not as well, but it will get done. Funny post.

I just did this sweet friend, and I know exactly how you are feeling!! I had great plans, as well!! I bought hundreds (or so it seemed) of rubbermaid bins at Wal-Mart, and they were all going to be neatly labeled, etc. for our move from the rent house back into our "real" house. We had to completely empty out our "real" home, so it was just like a move. Ahh, the chaos, the fast food, the handfulls of clothes and toiletries. . . Thankfully, you will be settled soon!! And, the pic of the triplets in the car is great!! I so admire the way you never seem to lose your sense of humor. You make it all so fun for those sweet kids God blessed you with!! I could have done alot better at that!
We moved over 5 months ago and I am about 60% unpacked at this time. I used to be SOOOOOO Type A it drove people CRAZY, but God saw fit to help me see the humor in trying to control my own life. The funny thing is, our best memories ususally include some sort of dramatic debacle. Thanks for sharing! (And with triplets?! You did good just making sure THEY all got to the new place!) :0)
Hilarious! Takeout means less dishes to wash! Revel in it.

What's amazing is that you still have some time for this crazy computer!
I am laughing so hard! We moved almost nine months ago and I, too, started with great intentions of having a move that would amaze all who know me. My husband and I sat in our living room the night before the movers came amazed at how smoothly it had all gone. It was a cross-town move, so we had already filled the garage of the new house with many boxes and thought the next day would be a breeze ... somewhere about mid-afternoon the next day when I realized that we had COMPLETELY forgotten about the attic contents (and there was a LOT of junk up there), I sat down in the driveway and cried until I was laughing hysterically. These moving fiascos sure do make for a lot of laughs, don't they??
LOVE your blog!
