We have been using a little Lenten devotional our church distributed to families to try and help the children understand the meaning of Easter. Last week, Ash Wednesday was about the Fall of Man in the Garden of Eden. Sin was explained as listening to the "Sneaky Snake." The kids have really gotten into this analogy. Now when they are being disobedient, I ask them if they are going to listen to that Sneaky Snake or "do the right thing" instead. I have been trying to help them understand that they can pray and ask God for help doing the right thing. They really seemed to be "getting it."
Yesterday afternoon, I was prompting them to explain the Sneaky Snake to Annie. I asked, "What do we do when that Sneaky Snake tries to get us to do the wrong thing?" R said, "We call the police officer!"

Cute, cute, cute!
What beautiful babies you have! I am really enjoying your blog. You mentioned not being able to have more children. Maybe consider adoption. I can just see a sweet Guatemalan baby girl in your family!! We have one son and have not been able to bio have more but want to adopt to complete the family. Anyway, just food for thought. Gina
That devotional sounds wonderful. Do you know where I might could get one or is it just through your church?
Thanks!!! I found a website where I can order it.
The Easter story is a hard one for little ones but one in which our whole faith is based. Sadly I think I was probably and adult before I heard the true Easter Story but I cherish this season more each year.
My 5 year old was apparently sharing the story of Jesus and His last days at Preschool and one little boy didn't "believe him" ---DS's words, so DS went and got their teacher to verify his story! I was so blessed to hear, that at 5, he is being bold in sharing with others.
That is too cute! I can just picture that conversation with the police officer who responds to the call :-)
That's really cute!! Wishing you all a quick and happy sale, move, and transition to your new home and many happy times there!
