But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22
I cringed as I read today's virtue...because it is the one I, personally, need to most help with. The impatience of my toddlers is often like holding a mirror up to my own childish behavior. Interestingly, while I am fairly patient with the big things, I struggle with this virtue in my daily life.
Help us, Lord, cling to You so that love covers all we do. May my children grow to see people and events through Your eyes. May they trust in Your timing, whether it be prayers they want answered or frustration with the sin of those around them...may they not become so caught up in impatience with things not going "their way" that they miss the beauty of life when things work out Your perfect way instead. Amen.
