A few weeks ago, my mother-in-law sent me a prayer calendar* which included a virtue a day to pray specifically for your children. This month, I thought I'd use the blog to not only record my thoughts on these things for my children, but to share with you all as an encouragement to pray specifically over your children and grandchildren. February is the month of love...what better way to love on the little people in our life than through specific, directed prayer?
Day 1: Salvation
"Therefore I am ready to persevere and stand my ground with patience and endure everything for the sake of the elect, so that they too may obtain salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with the reward of eternal glory." -2Timothy 2:10
Lord, I pray that you will draw these dear children unto yourself. I pray that they will accept your salvation and come to know you at an early age, then cling to you all the days of their life. I pray that they will love you with all their heart, mind, soul and strength and live lives that bring glory to You.
Give me patience, perseverence and strength to make the most of every opportunity to show them your love in a tangible way. Help me, depite all of my weakness and humanity, be a light that shows them your love, not a stumbling block that impedes their path to you.
Amen.

beautiful....thanks for sharing
Thanks, Jen! :)
It blows my mind how many things and themes run through our homes. I have the same prayer calendar that I received as we prayer walked our church member's schools.
It's called "31 Biblical Virtues to pray for your kids" by Bob Hostetler. Our church ordered them from www.praymag.com or you can call 1-800366-7788. It's a fabulous tool---I have one at the computer and Matt has one in his office. I also brought one for our lounge at work and it's been neat to hear the comments from coworkers. Hope that helps!
Congratulations on the nominations! You definately deserve them and are such an encouragement!
