Reason to Celebrate

I don't think I am ever able to write about my friend Cabell without mentioning that she is a rock star. Her authentic faith as she has walked through the last 8 months of being a young widow (after her husband lost an exhausting 18 month battle with metastatic melanoma) has been unbelievable to witness. Watching her live out her story has changed me.

Her post tonight is simply beautiful. I strongly encourage you to click the link to read it--especially if you find yourself feeling heavy this Christmas.

Not Celebrate? Your burden is too great to bear?
Your loneliness is intensified during this Christmas season?
Your tears seem to have no end?
Not Celebrate? You should lead the celebration.
You should run through the streets to ring the bell and sing the loudest!
You should fling the tinsel on the tree, and open your house to your neighbors and call them to dance!
For it is you above all others who know the joy of Advent.
It is unto you that a Savior is born this day.
One Who comes to lift your burden from your shoulders, One Who comes to wipe the tears from your eyes.
You are not alone, for He is born this day to you.

Thanks so much for this. I too lost my husband (23 months ago tomorrow) and have struggled more this 2nd year with my relationship with God. Cabell's words have helped me put some of it back in perspective. Give her a hug for me.
