L. was a Young Life 'kid' of mine back in my single days in Columbus, GA. We bonded during a trip to Frontier Ranch, a camp in Buena Vista, Colorado. We shared a love for singing Little Mermaid songs at the top of our lungs--a trait the other riders on our 36 hour bus ride didn't always appreciate. She went on to graduate from high school, then Auburn University. She married a wonderful man and they are both volunteer Young Life leaders. Last week they delivered twins. My P's name is actually her maiden name. Although he wasn't named after her, the good vibes from my warm memories of L. definitely helped me love the name.
I last saw L. at Sweeney's funeral. Her tummy was huge and she was glowing. She & her husband decided not to find out the gender of the twins ahead of time, so there was a great reveal as they were born last week.
I had never heard the song accompanying this video before, but fell in love with it as I watched this compilation of photos from that precious day. (Hillsong United, You Hold Me Now) The photographer did an incredible job capturing all the anticipation and emotion surrounding the birth of these sweet little girls.
One of the most remarkable things about ministry--and engaging in the lives of people--is when you get to see various chapters of their lives unfold. I am so proud of the beautiful mother my sweet L. has become. I don't get to take any credit, but I love and worship the God who does.

What a beautiful video! I can't imagine having twins and not finding out the gender!
The whole thing is so sweet, but there is just nothing better than the joy on all those grandparents' faces- I LOVE that.
Please tell your friend that those babies are BEAUTIFUL!!!! What a great video!
And by the way...is your friend or her family from East Texas? A few of those people in the video looked familiar.
I had to quickly brush away a few tears as I watched this beautiful video - didn't want hubby to think I was crazy :) I can only imagine how precious the video is to the family!
As a photographer I LOVE the idea of having someone capture the emotions of a birth day - all the family and friends can be in the moment and still have the photos to prove it.
Thanks for sharing!
I love the grandparents faces, the new Daddy face and her sweet face as they bring them in her room. Tenderness!!
Isn't the whole thing awesome? My hubby asked me a bit ago: "How many times are you going to watch that?"
Liz, they are in Ga.
Such beautiful babies! Congratulations to your friends! I love that song too!
Oh. My. Goodness.
What a beautiful video... The photographer captured it all beautifully and I too LOVE the expressions on the faces of the grandparents. Are they the first grandchildren? Such delight on all the faces and mama looks wonderful!
Absolutely precious! WE too did NOT find out the gender of our twins and that was a gift in itself...would do it the same all over again! Blessings and thanks for sharing!
I do not know this family, yet this video brought tears to my eyes, reminding me of the day that our twins were born. Such precious memories. And seeing the excitement on the grandparents faces, gave me chills thinking back just 9 months ago when I became a first time grandmother. So thankful that mother and babies are doing so well. God is good!
Thanks for sharing.

I've heard wonderful things about you and have actually visited your blog a couple of times before.:) Nice to finally have some sort of encounter via the internet. Thanks again! [Kate Whitmore]
