Helping Haiti

No doubt there are many trustworthy organizations working hard to aid Haiti right now. I wanted to give two links of organizations we already personally support and have found to be good stewards of their resources. These are not 'pop up' ministries. They are established organizations that have already been on the ground in Haiti for years...and who are doing all this work in the name of our Lord.

Compassion International
Samaritans Purse

I know how moved so many are by the plight of the Haitian people. Be prayerful and wise as you send your money. It is unfortunate that some will use this tragedy as an opportunity to take advantage of generous hearts!

I keep thinking of those people wandering, devastated through the ruined remains of their lives. It came in an instant and their lives are forever changed. Lord, show them that You are the Great Rescuer and Restorer!

(Feel free to post links if you are personally involved with another organization who is poised to do good work in Haiti.)

right after we heard about the earthquake there was a frenzy of calls being made to make sure that our friend, Melissa was safe. She works half the year (every year for the last 8) as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Northwest Haiti Chrisian Mission the other half the year she works at an inner city hospital here in kc. Anyway. If anyone wanted to donate straight to the medical side of things to get the doctors what they need, here is a link.

http://www.nwhcm.org/ on the left there is a tab for how to help. and under that you can either have it go to medical missions or the earthquake relief. Melissa says her hospital is being used as a supplier for the harder hit hospitals deeper in the city.

Thanks J! you're an inspiration, in so many ways!!!

I heard that American Airlines is taking doctors and nurses to Hati for free. That would be another to help if it's possible for anyone.

We sponsor a little girl in Grand Goave through Lifeline Christian Mission. They are taking donations as well. Thanks for putting this out there!
