Laughter

I am still riding the high of my little break over the weekend. I enjoyed my children so much today. After school we went to wash the car and then had an extended playdate at the McDonald's playground. Daddy had to work late, so the children and I went from there to an early dinner with friends. When we arrived home the children unloaded their school bags and wound up sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor reading to each other. K's story was apparently very entertaining and our home was suddenly filled with giggles. They took turns reading her book to each other...and the giggles were infectious.

I tried to capture a slice of it with the video camera on my laptop, but it is no match for the real thing.

They were clearly having more fun than should be allowed with homework. On that note we went upstairs for baths and bedtime. As everyone was tucked in and I did my final check before heading downstairs I heard P's sweet voice in the dark.
"Mama?"
"Yes?"
"I love to hear you laugh."
"I was just thinking the same thing about you guys, buddy."

Laughter is so very good for the soul.

Loving the giggles, but impressed with the reading ability! Sounds like some of my first graders! Thanks for sharing all this joy. You are so generous to let us into your world with those three little shining lights of yours.

My three year old was next to me when I was reading this post. He caught the giggles too and watched it again and again. Thanks for spreading the joy!
