I suppose I should be thankful that my children are attempting to expand their vocabularies, but I cannot help but giggle at their misuse of words and phrases.
Some of the misuse is simply bad grammer, like "I go-ed to the potty." K is the chief offender. Anything that is in the past tense gets an extra "-ed" on the end. I quitted, he runned-ed, she jumped-ed."
Other words and phrases are a bit more endearing. K frequently tells the boys to stop doing something because "that is really ignoring me!"
When R is especially excited to show off a new accomplishment he says, "Momb, you can't wait to see this!"
Today I overheard R giving instructions to P, "No, move your feet more apart...they need to be this instance from each other."
And Sunday the children really enjoyed learning about our neighbors' bap-a-patism and showing me where they once attended preschool--at the mef-a-ma-tist church.

I do. I try to remember them but I'm not too good at it....I'm going to have to write them down!
Both of my boys (6 & 4) still use the extra "-ed". Still love it!
Our on just turned 18. When he was 11, he announced that he was going to ask our family doctor for Viagra. He had just been put on Allegra but after seeing a major league baseball player advertising Viagra he thought it must be an allergy medicine also - only much cooler. We just told him about that little "oops" a few months ago. The innocence of these word mistakes is so sweet, even as they get older.
how about yogrit for yogurt. didn't matter how many time i corrected thomas it still came out the same way. i don't correct him now and love to hear him say yogrit!
