A couple of years ago I reconnected with an old friend from high school via the magic of the world wide web. Since this was pre-facebook, I found her through a mutual friend's blog. Katie's daughter is the same age as my trio, so it has been fun to watch her precious family from afar.
Although we grew up together in Georgia, Katie's family had been living and serving in California. This Spring Katie's husband received a call to pastor a church in Portland, OR. There were a few weeks in March when her family of 6 was displaced, so they came to visit family and friends in Georgia.
I had admired Katie's photography skills online and couldn't wait to see if she might be able to squeeze in a quick photo session. It was a crazy day--her family was literally living out of their suitcases. We were on our way to the beach. My husband was caught up in surgery and unable to join us...and yet, Katie was able to work her magic.
I love how she captured REAL LIFE in our family.
Katie is finally settled in her new home and today the CD arrived with the images I purchased. What fun!
This is such an expression of the dynamic that often exists with KP&R. R&K jockeying for position and P joyfully doing his own thing.
R and his precious Sunny--a lovie since the crib--that sleeps between his bare feet every single night.
And me with my hands (and heart) overflowing...

Such fun pictures. Way more fun than sitting in a stiff studio with stody posed pictures. What a true way to capture your family!
