I love 4 1/2 years old because my children are putting together some parts of the world with great accuracy--and others are still a bit off base.
A couple of nights ago we were talking about the children growing up. R told me that he wanted me to be his wife, since he would be too big for me to be his Mommy anymore. I explained that his Daddy claimed me first, so he would have to find someone else.
P then exclaimed with great exasperation, 'How will I eva find a wife? I don't know any!"
I explained that he had plenty of time to grow up and meet someone. I added that it might even be someone he already knows and named a few of his little girl friends. 'Oooh! I want to pick Sadie!" he announced.
K then asked who she could 'pick' and R interjected, "You just can't pick Thomas because he is MY friend!"
The teen dating years are going to be VERY interesting around here...
Later that evening I received some snapshots in my e-mail box from Sadie's Mommy. Looks like 4 year old courtship is underway!
Yes, they asked to be tied together. Look at him holding her chin (and her grin)...priceless!

You know the wedding posts I've been doing??? Save this for yours! Precious! angela
If only we could arrange for them to be together and skip all the dating. We can only hope. . .
The pictures brigtened my day. It made me think back to when my kids were that age. They are so innocent and bring many smiles that make you forget the frustrating times.
It is so fun to look at pictures like this 10 and 20 years down the road.
Just precious! Love all the new pics, and I like this from you:
"Lord, my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty. I do not get involved with things too great or difficult for me." -Psalm 131:1 (HCSB)
Thank you.

Gives whole new meaning to the term "tie the knot"...literally!
I hope your children hear you all praying for their future spouses. We did this with our children. We prayed that they would be Christians, that they would keep themselves for each other, that they would look for each other with discernment. They always knew that they were being prayed for and when they found their someone special, they knew we would welcome them as the answers to prayer they were.
So the children knew the expectation, knew the "check list" of what to look for, knew that someone was out there for them, knew that we had FAITH that God would provide.
And He did. :)
