One of the things I love about life as a family is how special family traditions are rarely created, but more often evolve. One of the very silly rituals currently evolving in our home is the night time love fest where the children and I attempt to outdo each other's descriptions of our love for another.
It started several months ago with a simple, "I love you to the moon and back."
One day K countered with "I love you to the beach and back." Within a week or two that evolved into something like, "I love you to the beach, outer space, the North Pole, Maine, Colorado, Alabama, China AND back 10 times."
It eventually got so long that R, who like his Mama prefers to just cut to the chase said, "I love you to all the places."
THEN, they started learning numbers. Our routine currently sounds a little something like this:
For posterity's sake I should add that K & P have their own versions of this. P says lots of numbers then adds, "Is that a really, really, really lot?" K says, "I love you all the places more than you do."
This is the pure and utter sweetness I hope to never, ever forget! And just for the record, I love them that much plus 1. :-)

THANK YOU!!! They are the utter sweetness that is the future of this great country. Many thanks as I sit and listen to the presidential debate and that fear creaps back in, I am reminded that Jesus loves me and has me in the palm of his hand! I pray you never forget their sweetness too, thanks again!
Precious! We here at ATH say - "I love you to the moon and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth!" Then we remind The Blessings that
GOD loves them a "bazillion" times more than that! LOL! Oh.... the silly things we Mommies do - huh?
Sweet blessings!
Renee

So cute! I love following your blog.
OH MY GOODNESS!!!
That is sooo cute!
PRICELESS!!! Thank you for sharing. Your kids are so gorgeous in photo, but to see R in video...he is one good-lookin' dude!
Sweet! Just then that song "How Sweet it is to be Loved by You" came to my mind:D
Oh. My. Goodness. He is SO cute!
My crazy hyper 19-month old daughter seems to be enamoured by him. (She is a preemie, too.) She has actually stood still to watch the video clip three times in a row! Amazing.
Around here, with three boys in the house, we say, "I love you to infinity and beyond, forever and ever." :)
Brought tears to this old mama's eyes. The sweetness is so precious. You are so smart to have recorded this. I have a picture when my son was about eighteen months old and the way he is looking at me...says "I love You". It is pricelss to me...this will be priceless to you...it already is..but oh, how it will be when they are grown. You truly have sweet children, you are doing a great job...God Bles you and your husband.
Your children are precious pumpkins. Love the video!
I love it! Guess school has really already taught him a lot! What a precious, precious video!
Precious and priceless...I'm glad you have that taped!
