My sweet hubby was away today, so the kiddos and I took a road trip to see my Dad and Mom who was recovering from gall bladder surgery. We left my driveway at 7:45 this morning, drove 4 solid hours through steady rain. Predictably, they all fell asleep 20-30 minutes before I pulled into my parents' drive. After a day full of play, we reloaded and returned.
The 7.5 hours in the car certainly produced some entertaining, blog-worthy comments.
As the children were watching Preschool Power I heard a voice from the backseat ( I honestly cannot remember who, but I think it was P) say, "Mom, this video just said a Spanish word for trash can."
I was perplexed, as I did not recall this video having any Spanish instruction. Then it hit me...
"Was the word waste basket?"
"Yeah. Is that the Spanish word for trash can?"
Then tonight as the children were wrapped up in a praise music DVD, my mind was churning over a couple of challenging situations I am facing. I was deep in contemplation when out of nowhere P said, "Mom, did you know God is mighty? He can move snowy mountains in Colorado."
I couldn't help but smile. What a blessing to hear precious truth and encouragement from a child's fresh faith!
My husband just called to let me know he is on his way home from the airport. The children are sweetly tucked away in bed. All is well.

My son is always saying some goofy word is the spanish word for "_____". (whatever he happens to be looking at at the time.) Three year olds are so entertaining :-)
Aww, your children are adorable! I'm glad you had an enjoyable and definitely entertaining trip!
