Even since their behavior in the womb, my boys have shown me daily, in countless ways, that they are starkly different little people. Today I was reflecting on how their personalities differentiate themselves more and more everyday. I love them both so deeply and completely...how can it be possible to love such extreme opposites? Amazing!
For posterity, here's a brief list.
R is about facts, routine, rules and order. P prefers the possibilities, new approaches to problems and methods of doing things.
R is intense and competitive. P is light-hearted and unconcerned (even when he should be).
R is Alex P. Keaton from Family Ties. P is Zach from Saved by the Bell.
R loves baseball, football and golf. P loves soccer and basketball.
R is tucked in and pressed. P is untucked and ruffled.
When R is 'busted' he is angry and tearful while P turns on the drama and the charm.
R is a 'clean plate club' kid (with no condiments) while P seems to live off of carbs, air and ketchup.
R's at his absolute best every third day when it is his turn to be "Leader of the Day." P's leader days are his worst, because they seem to stress him out.
R is shy with strangers. P is a performer.
R loves to hide. P cannot wait to be found.
R creeps around so quietly he has really spooked me a couple of times by appearing, seemingly out of nowhere. I seriously don't think P is physically capable of whispering.
R gravitates towards older children and cannot wait to be a big kid. P prefers to play with children a little younger and tells me frequently he doesn't want to get any older.
R requires 13 hours a sleep per day. I am lucky to get 11 out of P.
R sleeps with no covers and flip flops all over the place. P sleeps in one position, like a little lump, as snug as a bug all night.
These are my sons. I cannot wait to see the plans God has for their lives!

amazing.. total opposites yet so very loved and I pray that love will always be the strongest with each other. They say opposites attract, I hope they are the best of friends always, with a little sister in the middle! Precious post j.
I love this! As we talked about the other day, I can totally relate. Yesterday, D & W were "cleaning" their room, and W kept saying, "No, no D...do it like this." Nevermind that W wasn't actually cleaning anything up himself. The point was that D wasn't doing it the RIGHT way. I could just eat them up, they are so cute together!
