A Fun Friday

Spring activities are in full swing. It has helped a great deal, as naps are rapidly becoming a thing of the past, to have organized activities to use up some of the boundless energy in our family.

Our day began with gymnastics. When I looked at this series of pictures, all I could think was: Synchronized Stretching.

And then, apparently, K got bored.

Oh, look! Action!

That's more like it!
After gymnastics, we spent a few hours with Grandmother and Granddaddy...painting, basketball, soccer, playground, biking, lunch and the beloved jump jump.

One would think after all that play, some rest would have been in order. 'Quiet time' was actually quite rowdy as we all celebrated Daddy's return from a 4 day trip with a huge second wind. Luckily, we had our first preschool soccer practice this afternoon to take care of some of that energy.

Watching the 15 3-5 year olds respond to organized soccer was entertaining. Even more entertaining was watching the Daddies. Coach Zaca had a half dozen impromptu assistant coaches. I couldn't help but giggle at the difference in how the Mommies socialized and cheered from the sidelines, while the Daddies handed out pointers from the center of the action.

Soccer was a great hit. As P said this afternoon, "This is a fun day!" Yes, indeed, it was.

J, where did you get those t-shirts? They are too cute! And don't you miss nap time? I especially miss it around 6:00 each evening when W&D are CRANKY like you wouldn't believe (actually, you probably would believe it). Glad you and your little ones had a fun day! Hope everyone slept extra well!

Soccer is huge in our house. I just love "pack" soccer at that age. We laugh so much. We are also into very competitive high school and premier soccer too, so the little ones are a good break!
