Home Again!

Yesterday morning we left the beach at 8:30am. We finally arrived home after midnight this morning. It was a very long day, to say the least. We were able to stop and see my parents, Grandmama Dobbs, Aunt Boo and family for an afternoon visit and dinner along the way. Yet, we were not prepared for the severe weather and traffic delays. It took us two and a half hours to travel five miles on one portion of the Interstate near Atlanta last night. Little did we know as the rains raged all around us that tornados were on the move in downtown Atlanta, just a few miles from where we were.

The traffic jam was so severe that little R woke up at one point and said, "Why did we park here?"

As I woke this morning and saw the reports from last night (and the pictures) I couldn't help but be thankful. In the midst of our inconvenience last night, I was oblivious to the real danger lurking nearby. How true this often is in life!

(Pictures coming when I get a few minutes of spare time...)

We spent time in our basement last evening during the bad part of the storms moving through the Atlanta area. I can't imagine being out in the storms, especially in a vehicle.
