It is 8:23pm and I am in my pajamas, blogging from bed. I am one click of the Publish button away from dreamland...not because I am sick (thankfully), just because I am worn out. Life is good and full. We are healthy and blessed. Life is just active and sometimes it catches up to me!
Yesterday after preschool the children and I headed to Atlanta to visit with my sister-in-law and her family who are in for a few days from Maine. We met at the Georgia Aquarium, which was loads of fun. It was our first attempt without the stroller. The children did really well fighting off their fatigue--especially considering the full Valentine's Day they had already experienced , major sugar highs and triple skipped naps. I was worn completely out emotionally, simply from two hours of trying to keep tabs on the three of them in a crowded place full of 'don't knows' that lends itself to lots of preoccupied, excited wandering away from Mom.
Going to bed so early is a tad bit pathetic, but my husband is on call tonight and I am anxious to counteract the loss of sleep from phone calls. Earlier this week he had a particularly busy call night. The next morning I remarked about what a busy night it had been. "Didn't you get called like four times?" He laughed and showed me the real number: 11! (between 10pm-5am) Funny how I can sleep through entire conversations 18 inches from my head, but if a child coughs down the hall I am immediately awakened from a deep slumber. Ahh, the mysteries of motherhood and our super powers!
Off to get some rest before we wake up tomorrow for another 14 full hours of 3 year old energy. Whew!

I must say I'm jealous...
I soooooooooooooooooooo wish I could go to bed right now. Wait. What's stopping me?
You set such a good example.
I'm off to bed.
G'Nite!
Get some good sleep girl, I am right behind you too.
sounds so good!!!
An 8:30 bedtime doesn't sound pathetic to me...it sounds downright heavenly! :-) I hope that as I type this, you're snoring away, getting the sleep you need!
You gotta take advantage of the early bedtimes when ya can!
I just saw the Georgia Aquarium on the Today Show...looks AMAZING!
Um, seriously, 11?! That is downright absurd! Wow...wow...yeah, I don't know how you slept through all of that...I guess you get used to it, but wow...I am really in "awe" of that right now. There is on call and then there is "pay me for the whole day" and I think he fell into the latter category! :) That is like having a triplet newborn night sleep I bet!
Thats ok J. Mom.....I went to be at 8pm one night a while ago. We need our rest!
Great pics!
