He Answers

There are so many great things about God...but one of the practical things that I love most is His incredible faithfulness to answer us when we call Him. God has done that for me today in ways that are undeniable.

During naptime today, I sat and listened to sermons of potential new pastors of our church. God had something relevant to my current struggles in every single one of the 3 sermons I reviewed.
Then, tonight I went to the first session of my Summer Bible Study. I knew it was Beth Moore and the subject was the fruit of the Spirit. I did not know the title was "Living Beyond Yourself." The 1 hour video tonight was totally about the title and what that means in our life. I must have said "Amen" 15 times. (Quietly though, because afterall, I AM a Presbyterian. :-) )

How incredible is it that the God of the Universe hears our sincere prayers and answers our concerns--even about silly things (in the grand scheme) like the frustrations of motherhood? Seriously, when you really reflect on that it is mindboggling.

I added this quote that I heard tonight from George Bernard Shaw to the right sidebar because it was just so inspiring:

"This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy."

I am headed off to bed feeling re-energized, re-oriented, and re-committed. Here's to husbands back home, fresh starts to new weeks, and an awesome God who loves us in awe-inspiring, real, practical ways!

As a Presbyterian myself, your "Amen" comment cracks me up big time! Thanks for sharing all this, I'm struggling with some similair issues and it's encouraging to hear them discussed and worked out by another mom.

That is beautiful. I am glad you are feeling renewed.
Your blog is enjoyable for me to read since your trio is almost exactly one year older than mine and it gives me insight on things to come. It also brings the Lord into my mind as I really need to work on that section of my life and you help me get it in a little bit more order each day. I have a LONG way to go, but you are helping my path get clearer. Thank you.

*snicker, snort* Girl, with your level of faith, belief, and walk, I hearby dub you an honorary Pentecostal! *wink* Amen away!

Have a great week!

The Presbyterian comment had me laughing too. We go to a Presbyterian church, too, and there are often some "Amens" (and not so quiet either) throughtout the sermon. My dad is also a PCA pastor and tries to get his congregation to say it at times.

Hi JMom, I just had to comment and let you know that I love your blog! I have been reading for a while, but I'm not sure I have commented yet. I just had to comment on this post because I have really been relating to what you have been talking about recently, and I too am doing Beth Moore's Living Beyond Yourself. I love how God uses so many different ways to affirm our convictions--and your posts have been one of them for me! Just wanted to thank you for sharing your experience and thank you for encouraging me!

I've done the "Living Beyond Yourself" study, too. Loved it! I'm currently reading one of Beth Moore's books, and I'm lovin' it as well.

I am so glad to serve and love that same God who cares about all my little and big things, too. He so often meets and exceeds my expectations that I stand amazed.

Thanks for sharing!
