The Move

I am exhausted...so this post will be reduced to bullet points.
1- I am posting as I LAY ON A SOFA!!!!!!! I have not been able to do this in my own home since February, so life is good. Very soft, cushy, comfortable good.
2- It took 9 hours, but we have now been reunited with all our "stuff."
3- I realized today, that while it is just stuff, it is my stuff and I like it a lot. (Have I been living with toddlers too long or what?)
4- In the process of moving today, I had a VERY close encounter with a 4 foot long snake. The snake had taken up residence in Daddy's toolbelt, which was hanging 5 feet off the ground on the wall in our garage. I was aware of a birds' nest in this toolbelt and noticed the eggs were missing. I assumed they had hatched and moved on, until I reached for a hammer and was met with a slithery stranger (hissing no less). Seems he noticed the nest and decided that would make his home next to the all you can eat buffet.
5- Have I mentioned that I REALLY dislike snakes? REALLY, REALLY, REALLY.
6- The best part of my day was the quality time with my sweet mother-in-law. I am blessed with a great relationship with my husband's parents. When I was on bedrest for those 8 1/2 weeks in Atlanta, my mother-in-law was with me virtually everyday. Now that grandkids are on the scene, we don't have as much quality time as we used to, so it was nice the wrap dishes together today and catch up. And watching her try to wrap up the coffee cup I was using today, which still contained a substantial amount of coffee, was classic.
7- I was reminded again how motherhood has changed me when I carried 30 lb dumbbells to and from the moving truck ON MY HIPS.
All in all, the day went quite smoothly. Now I am off to sleep!

I am so glad that y'all finally have your furniture! We lived w/ my sister for 7 mo. while trying to find a house and I can totally relate to not having your own things! It was so nice to sit at our own kitchen table and use our own forks to eat dinner on our own plates! Yay for you! Sleep well! Oh.. and I am so sorry that you had to meet Mr. Snake today! Just the thought of seeing him makes me shiver!

Ugh! You are not alone disliking snakes. You are very brave, if it was me I would have run screaming from the scene! Congratulations on your move.
