Excuse Me?

Just a couple of recent quotes from the kiddos:
My historically laid-back P has entered the phase of pushing the limits. When I address his behavior he has three new strategies. First, he closes his eyes (but squints so he can still see me.) If that doesn't resolve the issue, he starts pretending to sneeze repeatedly. (This one almost works because it is so bizarre.) Finally, when I instruct him to "Look at Mommy" he replies quite politely, "No, Thanks!"

Saturday, I was talking with Daddy as we were driving to lunch, we started discussing an issue I was concerned about. As I was sharing my heart with him on the issue, I started to cry. I was unaware the children were even tuned into to us, as they were jamming to Dora in the backseat. Suddenly from the middle row, R says, "Hey, Mommy! Why are you being like a baby?" The laughter that resulted was the perfect pick-me-up.

Yesterday morning, K was a little gas-y. As we were having breakfast, I heard a little flatulent noise from her. She then started giggling and said with a huge grin, "Mama! I just had a silly burp in my diaper!"

You are going to be so thankful that you have this blog to go back and read and remember the great and funny and profound things your children will say in the next few years! Thank you for sharing that joy with us!

Oh, this laughter break was just what I needed in the midst of grading school papers and giving spelling tests! I can just imagine the "No, thanks." How funny
