Happy Mommy!

Today, Daddy & I enjoyed our annual date to Augusta for the Masters Golf Tournament. It is a trip that some might find crazy. We woke up at 6am dressed and fed 3 toddlers, got them settled with grandparents, then drove 3 1/2 hours in order to spend 3 hours outdoors in chilly, breezy temps, only to drive 3 1/2 hours home. It was absolutely heavenly and exactly what my weary Mommy soul needed: A full day of quality time with my husband! Uninterrupted conversation that ranged from deep and meaningful to mundane and sometimes downright silly. (Later, I will blog about the awesome conversation we had about motherhood. I cannot wait for the conversation it is likely to start in the comments.)

The course was gorgeous. The golfers were impressive. The time with my husband was priceless. I love Masters Saturday!

During our 12 hour sabbatical, each set of grandparents had a shift here holding down the fort. The children had a blast with a day that included an Easter Egg Hunt, 2 trips to the playground and lots of grandparent love.

Unfortunately, the overstuffed Easter Bunny at the Hunt this morning was a little scary. Before bed tonight, we had to assure and reassure the children that The Easter Bunny would not come upstairs tonight and that AS SOON as he deposited treats in their baskets he would leave. R's final request as I tucked him in tonight was for me to "wait for da bunny to come, open da door to let him leave da candies, then close da door and then hurry send him away to see da udder children really qwickly."

You have GOT to like it to brave this cold weather! We just watched it from the couch!

(I've nominated you for the Thinker Blogger award...you always give me lots to think about.)

=0) Happy Easter!

Well, I'm not a golf fan, but anything that invovles quality time with the husband minus the children is worth it to me! Even if it inclues a 3 1/2 hour drive. Glad you had a good time away. And I can't wait to read about the motherhood conversation. You've definitely got my attention on that one. :)

I am glad you had some treasured moments with your hubby! A GIFT and a refreshing time for your heart!
I love how you type out the way your kiddos talk, so cute and makes me smile!
Have a wonderful Easter, celebrating Christ's victory over death!

Sounds like a great date day to me! I love to watch the Masters, although I'm way too far west to be able to actually see it in person. It is important to have those special times with your husband.

Oh, my golf-fanatic husband would be GREEN (get it?!) over your field trip. Because he would just LOVE to visit with me and only me for 12 straight hours?? Uh, not so much. He would LOVE to be able to see the Masters! He and a buddy were able to get tickets a couple of years ago through a friend and some serious praying. He brought home every Masters souvenir ever made.

He's been camped out in the playroom the last two days and tells anyone who will listen, "That is the most beautiful golf course I've ever seen in my life. The ground! The greens!"

Like you, I LOVE road trips with just my husband. THE best conversations we've ever had have happened during those times. I can't wait to hear what your "cliff hanger" is about. Hurry and tell us!
