Makin' a Marchin' Band

Today was another gorgeous Spring day in Georgia, so Daddy came to meet us at Panera Bread Company tonight for a little outdoor dining experience between patient consults. The veranda at the Panera in our town overlooks a very busy intersection. The children all asked to be excused, then pulled their chairs right up to the rail overlooking the intersection. Through shouts of glee they announced that they were watching all the cars "makin' a marchin' band." We enjoyed stimulating adult conversation for 15 minutes while the children enjoyed the "parade."
Being without TV for 3 weeks has apparently made them so desperate for entertainment that it truly does not take much. :-)

P.S. Thanks for all the supportive comments in the previous post about whining. I ordered Sacred Parenting this afternoon (while on free Panera WiFi.) I also noticed last night that my favorite pictures from the last few weeks are all from behind. Perhaps because it disguises the grouchy expressions. :-) I hope to be able to post pictures from my camera within a week.

Your children were entertained by traffic??? How nice that you and Ryland got some time to talk!! I actually looked for Sacred Parenting at our Lifeway after I read that comment on your post. But, they didn't have it. You'll have to let me know what you think!! Take care.

Hey forget fancy museums and far-flung vacations; who knew traffic could be so entertaining?! Your little ones seem to have such great imaginations!

I don't know who I'm rooting for more: you, so you can have internet once again at home, or them, so they can watch some good old fashioned TV!!! : )

I have this same book, but have not yet started it.
I pray all is going well in the moving and adjusting.
How fun that the kiddos enjoyed watching the moving traffic! :) Ahhh, the simplicity of it all!
God Bless!
