Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I Timothy 6:12
There are over 400 uses of the word faith in the Bible. I looked specifically at the instances where Jesus spoke of faith. Faith prompted Jesus to make things happen. As a result of faith, people were healed, miracles were performed, sins were forgiven. Jesus was intentional about pointing out in each of these instances that it was "because of their faith." In Romans, we learn that Abraham's faith was creditted to him as righteousness.
On the other hand, there are references to Jesus being "amazed" at people's lack of faith. In Matthew 13:58 we are even told Jesus did not do many miracles in a particular place "because of their lack of faith."
I firmly believe faith moves mountains, just as Jesus promised.
Oh, Lord, I pray my children will be found full of faith. I pray they will possess a true, deep faith that motivates you to action and that their lives will bear miraculous fruit as a result of their faith in You. Amen.

What a beautiful blog. And what a wonderful prayer for your children. We have had many an instance where all we had was our faith to hold us together. It is something my children learned very young, and something they continue to live with everyday.
My heart aches for those who do not share a faith, a hope and belief. I know it has changed my life, eternally.
I loved this. If you only prayed one prayer for them their whole life, this would be a good one. It would cover just about everything else.
Sweet sweet prayer....
I have followed your blog for some time but my daughter just informed me who you guys are...
I work with your husband at the hospital...
As a Nurse for many (too many) years.. your husband is a wonderful example of Christ. You can see it in him.
Thanks too for sharing your journey.

Jen, in my Bible study this morning - the Beliving God by Beth Moore -, we read Psalms 77:14 says,
"You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples."
NOT Past tense. Not you are the God who performEd - it's the present tense.
God sits on His throne, performing miracles every day.
