Saturday, we enjoyed our weekly breakfast date with Daddy, then showed the house to a potential buyer for the first time. Can I just tell you how much I do not enjoy trying to show this house? I keep an organized home, but the key to that illusion is having good hiding places. How on earth can a woman hide anything when strangers are checking out all the closets? I am so anxious to close on the new house this week, so we can start de-junking. I think it will be immensely easier to prepare for a showing when the contents of our closets, garage, laundry room and other bastions of clutter have been moved to the new house. I can only hope!
Today, we met my inlaws and 16 year old cousin Scott, who they have custody of, for a wonderful birthday brunch. What does it say of me as a mother, that my children were too ill for the church nursery, but OK to go out to a nice restaurant? After lunch, the children enjoyed reading with Daddy & cousin Scott. Scott is wonderful with our little ones. The children adore him. R is especially enamored with the fact that Scott is a "foob-ball playa."Tonight, R & I are listening to the Blind Boys of Alabama as we wait for a yummy tenderloin to grill. I am sipping Constant Comment Green Tea. Sick children are sleeping soundly. The house is calm. I am in complete denial about the craziness that this move is about to add to our already hectic life. Tonight, I am peacefully ignorant. Life is good.
Happy, happy birthday, honey! You are my best friend, the love of my life and I am incredibly thankful for the blessing of you.

Happy Birthday!!!
Hope the sick babies get better - soon!!!
Great cake Jen- doesn't it take willpower to keep your hands off and let them do it? It does for me! Happy Birthday Ryland!
BTW, for us, it was MUCH easier to keep things tidy in our old house after we packed up more than half our belongings.
I know the daily prayers are for the children but we so appreciate them over here... I am saving every one! :)
Peacefully ignorant...love that one. Hope all of yours get well soon. We've had some of the same junk going around, but at least it's too cold to go do much anyway. And I do pray all of your move goes smooth. I know it's not easy with little ones.
Congrats on the new home!! I'd love to hear all about it!
It looks like a fun birthday for daddy! I love those kinds of cakes--so special! What a fun time!
