The Good

So after my little "valley of overwhelm" last week, I thought I would take a few minutes to document the precious things about having 3 toddlers.

In the last couple of weeks they have really started to play together---Duck duck goose, ring around the rosey, London bridge, catch, frisbee, and various other imaginary games. Watching them interact is hilarious, when they aren't fighting. :-) Another new pastime is "racing" to see "who will win the necklace." (They saw something on television where runners received medals.)

I really wanted to make sure they got to experience the fun of giving at Christmas, so today I took them to the Dollar Tree to buy gifts for one another. I took them one by one to make their purchases, while Annie stayed in the car.

The boys were hilarious, each choosing bracelets for K. R & K appropriately picked out balls for P. K & P chose cars and sidewalk chalk for R. Their gifts for Daddy are hysterical. I did not interfere. They chose them all by themselves. I cannot blog about them since he reads this...but trust me, they are RANDOM! It is going to be so fun to see their faces as he opens them.

I love to do this with my kids too. For just a few bucks, they can get all manner of treasures (later known as junk). It's a sweet memory.

Jenmom,
How sweet, that is so awesome that you took them to the dollar tree!! It is a good idea to let them do that for each other at an early age, Then they will always know it is important. I can't wait to hear what they picked out for their daddy!
I'll bet your house is so special on Christmas morning, with 3 precious toddlers. Lucky you and Ryland.

If I tried that, the oldest would be telling what everyone bought and especially telling what they got their daddy. I love the idea though. Maybe I'll give it a try and see if the secrets are kept. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

G started doing that with Carver two Christmases ago. Last year I receieved the most beautiful tiara-complete with feathers. Of course, I wore it proudly all Christmas morning! Sweet gifts of the heart make the best memories!
