I have this photo framed in my house. (Apparently, I actually used develop & frame photos back before I blogged.) As I looked at it today it seemed a perfect sendoff to Summer which will end for us this week. Next week we start Mother's Morning Out in a church program 2 mornings a week, a Kindermusik class and a GYMNASTICS class. The kids loved Kindermusik this Summer, so I am sure they will have an equally wonderful experence this Fall. The gymnastics class just popped up on my radar screen, but sounds like a great way to help them burn off some of their 2 year old energy in a safe way.
A couple of days ago, P decided to venture into jumping on furniture. I really do try to run a tight ship around here--shoes off when inside, no standing/jumping on furniture, etc... So, you can imagine the look of pure glee on P's face when he realized that he could BOUNCE on furniture. I informed him that he could jump on the floor, NOT on furniture. He climbed down and attempted to jump from the floor, then said, "Jump on floor HEAVY, Mommy!"
Then, yesterday while I was on a very important phone call, they took extreme advantage of my inability to lecture them and played "climb da mountain" on my bed. Here's hoping gymnastics is an outlet and not an encouragement to do more of these wild tricks! (Somehow I think this is just wishful thinking!)
That is such a sweet picture. I love beach pictures...

LOL at the jumping! My 2 1/2 yr. old just took gymnastics this summer and thinks she's big stuff jumping on our bed, too. Unfortunately, her daddy is usually on the bed with her bouncing along and encouraging the silliness. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the beach picture! So cute!
ReplyDeleteWe started The Little Gym back in March and have stayed enrolled since then. The boys LOVE it and it really does give them a chance to burn off extra energy!! It's a mommy and me class so they like having me there if they feel uncomfortable for any reason.
Hope it works out for you!!!!!!!!!
Love the pics...too cute! I even went back to look at some of your early pics, you are blessed with an adorable family.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy reading your blog. I can feel how genuine you are.
Thanks for the blessings,
Leslieann- I love this picture too. When I took it, my husband said, "Why are you taking pictures of their backs?" I just love those sweet little heads.
ReplyDeleteStephanie- My kiddos seem to learn lots of silliness form the males in our family too. Last weekend my Dad decided to teach them to catch rasinins in their mouth...as if they needed any encouragement to throw food at the table!
Teresa- This is a Mommy & me class, too...except in our case it is a Mommy, Sitter & me, me & me
Melissa- Thanksfor your sweet words. My "genuineness" can sometimes get me in trouble. :)
Love the photo! We, too, are saying a good-bye to summer next week as my youngest ds starts his final year at his wonderful preschool (my older 2 have started at their respective schools already). Why does summer have to go so soon? We love Kindermusik!
ReplyDeleteOH so adorable, I love the beach photo!
ReplyDeleteAnd oh what fun jumping on the bed, I know I run a tight ship here too, but my twins have found a way to climb up on big brothers bed and jump...bought gave me a heart attack the other day when I saw them. (inwardly laughing the whole time)
Blessings
I love the beach picture, that is definitely a framer!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a great fall planned. It is nice to get out a little and have little things to look forward to.
So sweet! I'm impressed that they have just started jumping on the bed. Somebody might call DHR on me, but we in fact encourage ours to jump on their beds-especially on rainy days. There are two stipulations: one is that a grown up has to be in the room, the second is you have to share space with Elizabeth (she's still in a crib so has no true bed to jump on). It's a great place to play, sing songs, and be silly (at least we crazy parents think so.) It is funny to watch them try to jump on our bed. It's a tempre pedic (sp???????), and Elizabeth always says that my bed is "broken-it doesn't work!) Have fun!
ReplyDeleteAmy
mine is a mommy and me, mommy and best-helper-in-the-world-older-daughter Brittney...... =)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jen. We didn't test either. We'd been through infertility as well and were completely thrilled that we were having a baby...regardless of any disability. He can be the sweetest thing in the world, but oh my, he can be so the opposite too! I am completely in awe of him every day and so thankful! :)
ReplyDeleteKindermusik is so great! Josiah, my three year old LOVES it!
