Laugh at the Days to Come

Periodically people ask how I manage to get all three of my wild ones in a picture, facing the camera and smiling. I have shared a couple of my tricks in the past (playing Simon Says, telling them someone is in my lens winking at them, bribes and/or idle threats ;-). But today I discovered the greatest trick of all. Look at the pure joy and real laughter.
How on Earth did I accomplish capturing these expressions early this morning before our last day of school? Well, here's the secret: Our dog, Haley, walked up behind me and let out a really loud, random YAWN. My children thought it was hysterical. The new question is how to teach Haley to do that on command.

Today was our last day of preschool--EVER. We have enrolled the children in Montessori for the Fall. This will be a whole new adventure for us, which intimidates me. We have absolutely adored their sweet church preschool, but my husband and I are more convinced than ever that it is the right thing. They will each be in their own class--and they will be going 5 days a week.

My job over the next three months is to soak them up--and I am looking quite forward to it!

I can't believe it! It seems like only yesterday "the babies" were born. Wow.

Love you all and we will see you in a couple of weeks.

Wow, those pictures are so genuine and adorable. Maybe Haley can go to doggie Montessorie to train to yawn on command. She would be in great demand. Enjoy your Summer.

I am actually leaving a comment-ha! ;)

Precious pics-with what they are wearing, those would be great in b&w as well!

Curious-what made you decide on the Montessori concept?

What a bitter-sweet time! They are ABSOLUTELY precious! I have to tell you I have continually come back again and again to read that post about loving well - quoted from the author Ken Gire - WOW! That pricked my heart and I have continually thought about it over and over - thank you SO very much for sharing that challenge and the excerpt from his book! Sunshine

I love that last picture! Look at your sweet girl loving life, having a ball with her brother's hand in hers. That one is priceless!

Yes, enjoy the summer. Soak them in. Time only flies faster, I'm afraid to tell you. But, as Wendymom said, "Your job isn't over" by far.

Wow! How time flies! I can remember praying for you in our BS group while you where on bedrest at the hospital and us getting together a basket to send to you! Where did the time go? If you find out, please let me know, because my children, too, are growing up way too fast for me.

Montessori is such a great choice! It provides such great learning opportunities. The education they will receive will be second to none!

I am not married and no kids and my eyes are blurry! I am so thankful you share this journey, these little ones are a daily dose for me. I know they are growing up into precious little people but I just got a little sad b/c I cannot believe it is time for school for them 5 days a week! What a blessing, have a fun and adventurous summer! Looking forward to more stories with the trio! Blessings, Ashley

Great pictures! I know what a hard decision it was to pick a school for the kids. Being in different classes should be great for them. You won't know what to do with all of your "free time" while they are at school. You need the rest!!! Kerin

HOw your posts bless me and how I love looking at your sweet children. I know they bless you every day. Yes, enjoy each day. Enjoy each phase...I did that and have only fond memories....alwsys looked forward to summer and then looked forward to school starting back...loved each stage and phase and you have it times three. What joy...I am enjoying mine as adults now with thier own children. God bless your week end and your life as you go foward and look to Him. oh, I just remembered...my daughter will tell her children to not laugh when she gets ready to take a picture and that will make them laugh,of course...hers are older than yours, but try that...."don't laugh kids, dont' laugh"...works everytime

Such cuties!

Going to Big School will probably be more of an adjustment for you than for them.

Enjoy the summer. We've only got 1 week left ourselves.
