Winter Fun

Guess what the trio experienced for the first time IN THEIR LIVES today?

It was only a slight dusting of flurries, but the children had an absolute blast anyway!

This morning my cousin in Alaska sent a picture of her husband and two small children standing in front of a digital sign bearing the temperature -35F. There were mounds of snow all around them.
I was jealous for a moment of the experience of a real Winter, but just for a moment.

Getting the children in all their gear (and back out again a few minutes later) was not much fun. I cannot even imagine dealing with snowsuits.

Even though there was no accumulation, preventing R from making the snowman he had in mind, a little dusting still allowed us to make fun memories like tasting the snow.

In case you were wondering, "it tastes like blueberry candy!"

My three year old thought it tasted like peanut butter tonight. Love the pics with the snow.

We got caught in that snow driving home from the doc visit today. The kids were going crazy in the backseat wanting to play in it!

I hope you eventually got more than that! We've got quite the accumulation here, but I was not to keen about getting them all bundled up right before bed. Hopefully it'll be just as fun in the morning or they are going to be sad, sad, sad.

And I LOVE the cowboy boots. The older 4 all got some for Christmas and think they are the greatest things.

So cute - I bet there was a lot of squealing with them!!!
We are supposed to get snow tonight - I have my fingers crossed!

I love the glee on their faces.

(And yes, dealing with the coats and the gloves and the boots and the hats is one of the worst parts of winter. I miss our San Diego days, when going out in January meant thick-soled flip-flops and a light jacket.)

Hi. I just stumbled across your blog and was fascinated by the name you chose. My blog address www.d6scotts.blogspot.com because there are SIX of us Scotts. Yours made me smile, too. Anyway, I enjoyed checking your blog out. It's beautifully done!!!

Oh, that's wonderful - I'm happy for them! My girls are still waiting for that magical day. They'll have long to wait here in CA!

We got about an inch of snow/sleet south of Atlanta. I had to laugh, because my husband and I were outside early evening doing the very same thing your children were doing--catching the snow with our mouth. Our snow didn't taste like blueberry candy. LOL!

That is so funny. At least yall got flurries, we got sleet. It was pretty cool this far south.

I love the new pictures in the header. As a mom of triplets, myself, your stories give me hope and encouragement for the future. I've got a 5 year old, a 4 year old and then the 5 month old triplets.

I thought if you this morning when the news said it had snowed down south. You got your wish of some Snow! I love your comment about getting snowsuits on. This is my life these days. Although, they are starting get them on all by themselves now so that is very helpful!

jen, we grew up in ohio... my mom would slave over the snow suits, boots, hats, scarves, gloves... and just when she'd have two down and one more to go... the first one would have to pee while the second would whine, whine, whine about how hot they were.
all too comical as kids... but for a mom~ oh my!

We enjoyed the snow, too . . . while it lasted.

My children were not happy campers this morning when the mama awakened them at their regular time for school.

Thankfully, we ate breakfast at home and took them to school so they didn't have to rush so quickly into the day.
